ADVANCED ATP (aATP)
Unlike ECC's ATP, S/4HANA's advanced ATP (aATP) introduces automation for tasks such as releasing items for delivery, checking stock across alternative plants, and performing mass availability checks.
GLOBAL TRADE SERVICES
S/4HANA incorporates Global Trade Services (GTS), replacing ECC's foreign trade functions. GTS automates processes like embargo checking, license verification, and import/export declarations.
FSCM CREDIT MANAGEMENT
In S/4HANA, credit management transitions to financial supply chain management (FSCM-CR), bringing automated workflows that eliminate manual processes for credit limit approval and risk scoring. Its distributed architecture facilitates direct interaction with external credit agencies.
EXTENDED WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT (EWM)
Replacing ECC's Warehouse Management (WM) module, S/4HANA introduces the Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) module, simplifying complex warehouse processes such as labor management and goods distribution.
REVENUE ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING (RAR)
The RAR module in S/4HANA replaces ECC's SD Revenue Recognition module, aligning with the five-step revenue recognition model in IFRS 15. RAR introduces optimized contract management capabilities to comply with IFRS 15 while simplifying revenue recognition.
SAP FIORI USER INTERFACE
S/4HANA introduces SAP Fiori, a user interface providing a consistent, intuitive, and integrated experience. Fiori accelerates work processes, onboarding, and training, offering a better user experience and supporting custom enterprise apps consistently across devices.
ACDOCA: THE UNIVERSAL JOURNAL
In S/4HANA, multiple data modules merge into ACDOCA (the Universal Journal). It encompasses asset accounting, general ledger, material ledger, management accounting, finance, and CO-PA. ACDOCA streamlines data, eliminating the need for many aggregate and index tables, resulting in a more efficient system.
MATDOC INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Introducing MATDOC, a streamlined inventory management system in S/4HANA. MATDOC replaces over 26 tables from SAP ECC, storing material documents efficiently and enhancing stock reporting.
The SAP HANA DATABASE
S/4HANA exclusively operates on the SAP HANA database, leveraging the SAP HANA Cloud. This results in enhanced speed and efficiency due to various factors like reading data from main memory, column-based tables, parallel processing, and the integration of OLTP and OLAP tables, eliminating the need for reconciliation.
